History

In 1988 French designer Marie de la Soudière created the THEA fashion label in the Philippines. The THEA collection offered women’s sleepwear handcrafted in fine white cotton.  With luxurious, elaborately detailed and finished pieces THEA style combined classic elegance with comfort.

The THEA collection now includes daytime wear and children’s dresses, in white and in custom hand-dyed colors, all made from a selection of soft cotton fabrics.

THEA entered the world’s major fashion markets in Europe and the United States where THEA’s timeless designs and fine couture gained an international reputation.  The THEA label is now carried by prestigious boutiques worldwide.

Success has given THEA a sophisticated and loyal clientele with some admirers collecting every style.  THEA gowns can even be seen in major motion pictures.

We look forward to continuing the THEA tradition of creating beautiful and comfortable fashion for you and all of our friends.

Tailoring

THEA’s signature style of intricate stitching and lacework includes fine hems, delicate pin-tucks, picot detail, lace insertions, Swiss entredeux, and ruffle,  Victorian bridging, and French seams,  embroidery and mother-of-pearl buttons.

Each piece is made individually by a THEA seamstress and then finished by a team of skilled artisans.

Through the creative process, from the design layout, the fabric-cutting and sewing, to the finishing, washing, pressing and quality control, all of the work is done by members of the THEA Women’s Association.

The personal element of this unique manufacturing process is one reason behind the exceptional quality of THEA apparel, and places THEA in a distinct class, apart from other fashion labels.

When you hold a THEA creation in your hands you can feel the difference.
